MinePlan, formerly known as MineSight, is comprised of solutions that span production planning, engineering and geology. In the case of MinePlan 3D, this is a software in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) that allows the visualization and creation of 3D mining data.

O MinePlan Activity Scheduler (MPAS) is a pack of software developed to support mining planners to build tactical schedules from a production planning perspective and with the necessary level of detail to minimize the variation between plan and execution. Thus, the MPAS solution addresses a need for collaboration by connecting processes and data in a central location to support the management of a mine.

This short range control module allows mine planning engineers to use design and estimation tools to generate realistic and workable tactical activity schedules. On the other hand, the operational management solution that integrates these activity schedules with other systems is called MineEnterprise.

Therefore, the so-called solution Hexagon MineEnterprise Interval Control addresses a need for collaboration by connecting processes and data from the MPAS in a central location to support the management of a mine.

How does the workflow take place?

O MineEnterprise Interval Control brings together data from MinePlan and MineOperate to unlock new workflows that allow activity progress tracking and better schedule compliance.

As can be seen in the flow in Figure 1, schedules are created in MinePlan and exported to MineEnterprise. Within MineEnterprise, the analysis and monitoring of activity schedules are carried out automatically or manually. The last step is to import the schedule with updates through MinePlan.

Navigating the User Interface

The published schedules can be observed through Gantt charts. The timeline displays the activity tiles on a canvas that reflects the timeline of the timeline. The screen has markers that line up with the period start and end times.

It is suggested that the connected map be opened on two different screens if possible. Clicking on the activity geometry will open the schedule properties details panel. The selected activity will be highlighted indicating which geometry is connected to the property details.

Manual Progress Tracking

When an activity is configured to be manually tracked, the user can double-click the activity tile to launch a modal that allows the user to set values for the progress tracking metrics.

Automatic Progress Tracking

When an activity is set up to be tracked automatically, a background process runs to aggregate the measured work at the business location that is associated with the planned activity. The progress tracking logic will need to be configured to return the correct rollup results.

KPIS and Dashboards

There are several default dashboards MineEnterprise Interval Control. Among them, this one that provides an overview of the performance of the equipment for the programmed time horizon. This should set expectations for how much resources can accomplish in a scheduled period.

It follows that the module MineEnterprise Interval Control allows mining operations to distribute scheduling data to operational departments more efficiently. This facilitates work instructions and goals. The module will allow tracking of scheduled activities using data captured by a fleet management solution.
